The Rich Mountain Rendezvous was known for many years as “The Jailbreak in the Clouds.” Starting in 1999, every third weekend in September members of The Chain Gang – an Internet motorcycle club for owners of the BMW F650 – gathered at Queen Wilhelmina State Park to “kick tires and tell lies.” This Rendezvous will also feature Tiddler runs...off-road on Friday and paved roads on Saturday. Camping available on site. Funds raised at the Rendezvous support CASA charity.

January 29-31, 2016
Atchafalaya Levee Run, Morgan City, Louisiana
This ride was a mix of paved and gravel/dirt roads, and the weather was perfect. We rode ~140 (~50 unpaved) miles along the West levee of the Atchafalaya floodway, stopped to overnight in Morgan City, and returned Sunday ~140 (~35 unpaved) indirect miles along the East levee.
We had a good, but cold, ride down to Crockett, meeting up with a few other riders in Carthage for the ride down. Highlights included a stop at the Cherokee Theater in Rusk, seeing an R26 and seeing Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus on a trike at the conclusion of the Christmas parade in Cushing.
The East Texas BMW Plus Motorcycle Club hosted their Second Annual Texas National Picnic at Love's Lookout Visitor Center, just north of Jacksonville, TX.
The group departed from the old SMS on April 3rd to head to the Texas Hill Country. We stayed in Ingram, TX, which was a nice location to hit all of the great riding spots. See part of the group riding the "Three Sisters" here: http://vimeo.com/91244435. Here is video of the Ferraris we saw at the Hill Top Cafe: http://youtu.be/9RKT8o5J3r4.
Getting a bit excited for the warmer weather, a big group met for breakfast at Strawn's Eat Shop Too. Wayne and Lee headed off for some gravel roads, while another group split off and rode some curvy roads on their way to Mansfield.
